This gaming edition of the ‘Have you ever?’ post has been making its way through the video game blogging community, and I figured it was time to write my own post. Shout out to Michelle from A Geek Girl’s Guide for creating the original post. Here goes!
Rage quit a game
Uh, kind of? If we’re strictly talking about quitting a multiplayer game while it’s in session, the answer is no. In a single-player setting, if something is frustrating me to a point of ‘rage’, I’ll might quit and come back later – but it’s never a violent, controller-throwing kind of quitting. Also, I believe in the value of taking a break when something’s frustrating you, so you can come back to it in a calm, fresh state of mind later, which often enables you to complete your objective quite speedily! But that’s not really rage quitting at all.
Earned all achievements in a game
Nope. I don’t really care about achievements.
Pulled an all-nighter gaming
Yes, but really only at sleepovers when I was a teenager where we’d play Smash and Mario Kart all night long.
Livestreamed your gaming
I have not. But I’ve been interested in trying. Biggest obstacle is getting the equipment. I’m also shy, so I don’t know how I’d be as a streamer.
Pre-ordered a game
Yes, but if I really want a game on release day, I’m more of a ‘wake up early to grab the game and get snacks’ kind of person.
Bought a game and never played it
I bought Destiny 2 a couple years ago because a friend of mine loved it, but I had several other games I was interested in playing at the time (I had just gotten my PS4). I guess I still intend on trying it out at some point, but I keep getting distracted by other games that have caught my eye.
Been jumpscared by a horror game
Yeah, probably several times. I love horror games, but I don’t play too many of the jumpscare-heavy, first-person ones. I actually watch a lot of horror game let’s plays instead – and those have definitely jumpscared me.
Had a set squad for a specific game
Nah, I don’t do much in the way of multiplayer.
Bought a game on multiple platforms
Not the exact same game – I have purchased remakes/remasters like Ocarina of Time 3D and Link’s Awakening if those count.
Got a console for the games specifically
I’ve never bought a console without knowing at least one game I’m gonna play on it. I’m way into Zelda and Pokémon, so I’ve always gotta have my Nintendo consoles.
I’m hoping to also write a post with the original ‘Have You Ever?” questions, just for a little change up, so stay tuned for that!
