Animal Crossing: New Horizons Diaries #1

Hello and welcome to the first entry in this new iteration of my Animal Crossing Diaries series. Today is a day I have been excitedly anticipating for what seems like forever – New Horizons is finally out on the Switch. The world is in a very different state than I imagined it would be today, but there’s one thing I knew many of us would be doing today – playing Animal Crossing.

I arrived on my island, with a blue airport, cherries, and 2 villagers: Shari and Scoot. I also have triangle grass, has anyone found anything different?

Here’s the map I chose.

After finding the perfect locations for our houses, we (I) gathered up some materials and had a nice island warming party. At this party, I was given the opportunity to name the town. From today on, I will be living in Azurerose.

Potential beginnings of main street.

I decided to settle on the beach, a little south of the plaza. I plan on relocating later, but I love being near the water now.

I spent the day earning Nook Miles, which helped my to completely pay off my loan on day one! And I’ve taken the next step. Tomorrow when I wake up, I’ll have a brand new house!

To earn Nook Miles, I caught every bug and fish I could find. The new designs are gorgeous. I’ve also planted some red pansies, red hyacinths, and orange windflowers. I can’t wait to see them blooming!

After donating 5 bugs/fish to Tom Nook, who sends them off the Blathers, he gets a phone call from Blathers himself, announcing that he will be joining us on Azurerose, tomorrow.

Gathering materials and crafting has been fun, but there hasn’t been too much customization yet, so I’ll get back to you on that tomorrow.

I hope everyone who’s playing Animal Crossing today is having a wonderful time, and I look forward to seeing everyone’s islands grow. See you tomorrow!

Tomorrow’s Post
