Favorite Fighting Pokémon

I wrote a post on my favorite normal type pokémon a couple days ago, and now I’m moving on to fighting type! This is another type that I rarely use on my team – I’ve only actually used one of these pokémon. I don’t have much to say about fighting type pokémon, so I’ll post their pokédex entries from the pokémon website.

Gen 1 – Kanto – Hitmonchan

“Hitmonchan is said to possess the spirit of a boxer who had been working toward a world championship. This Pokémon has an indomitable spirit and will never give up in the face of adversity.”

Gen 2 – Johto – Hitmontop

“Hitmontop spins on its head at high speed, all the while delivering kicks. This technique is a remarkable mix of both offense and defense at the same time. The Pokémon travels faster spinning than it does walking.” I also love hitmontop’s animation in Pokémon Go.

Gen 3 – Hoenn – Meditite

“Meditite undertakes rigorous mental training deep in the mountains. However, whenever it meditates, this Pokémon always loses its concentration and focus. As a result, its training never ends.” Meditite sure is dedicated.

Gen 4 – Sinnoh – Lucario

Lucario is a super popular pokémon – it is one of the few pokémon to appear in Super Smash Bros after all. It’s also the only pokémon on this list I’ve used on my team. “By catching the aura emanating from others, it can read their thoughts and movements.” Also riolu is adorable.

Gen 5 – Unova – Mienshao

“It wields the fur on its arms like a whip. Its arm attacks come with such rapidity that they cannot even be seen.” I love how graceful mienshao looks.

Gen 6 – Kalos – Hawlucha

“Although its body is small, its proficient fighting skills enable it to keep up with big bruisers like Machamp and Hariyama.” Hawlucha has such a fun design and I think it should team up with the Royal Mask.

Gen 7 – Alola – Stufful

“Despite its adorable appearance, when it gets angry and flails about, its arms and legs could knock a pro wrestler sprawling.” Adorable is the key word.

Gen 8 – Galar – Sirfetch’d

I really hate farfetch’d’s evolution method. Sirfetch’d was the last pokémon I needed to complete my pokédex in Shield, so instead of trying to evolve a farfetch’d, I traded for one. But its design is really cool, so it made it on to my list of favorite fighting type pokémon. “After deflecting attacks with its hard leaf shield, it strikes back with its sharp leek stalk. The leek stalk is both weapon and food.”

Those are my fave fighting types, what are yours?
