Music Monday

It’s Monday, and that means Music Monday on McKenna Talks About Games. I’m still hoping to do some themed Music Mondays, but this week I just put together a few nice tracks from games I’ve been thinking about lately. Enjoy!

Still Waiting – Graveyard Keeper

I started playing Graveyard Keeper last week (I’ll probably post about it soon) and this track started playing as I was getting ready to go to sleep. It was so nice, I paused the game just to listen while I was falling asleep. It was the most relaxed I felt all week.

Fire Canyon – Jak and Daxter

I wanted Jak and Daxter to get some more love on my blog, so I’ve included the track that plays when you’re traveling by zoomer through Fire Canyon trying not to overheat. I remember this being particularly difficult for me as a kid – but now it’s a piece of cake.

Divine Beast Vah Medoh – Breath of the Wild

First I’d just like to say that I love the way the music is done for the divine beast dungeons. Changing the music each time a terminal was activated allowed you to feel the dungeon progression regardless of what order you completed it in. And adding different SOS calls for each champion was a brilliant touch. Vah Medoh’s theme was by far, my favorite. This was the track that made me feel the weight of the game’s plot the most – it captures both the sorrow of the loss of the champions and the importance of the task ahead of you. There’s also a feeling of optimism – there’s a challenge ahead, but you can overcome it.

Main Theme – Animal Crossing: New Leaf

With Animal Crossing: New Horizons only 2 months away now, it’s been on my mind quite a lot. I’m totally ready to be completely sucked into this game. So the track I’ll leave you with is the nice, relaxing Animal Crossing: New Leaf theme. Can’t wait to hear what plays when I boot up New Horizons for the first time.

Thanks for listening! Enjoy the rest of your Monday!
