A Few Indie Games I’m Looking Forward to

One of the great things about the Switch is how accessible it makes Indie games. There are several I wouldn’t have known about without the Switch, including Stardew Valley and Night in the Woods. After I played these games, I wanted more, so I started looking, and here are some upcoming Indie games I’m looking forward to.

Kynseed – From the some of the developers of Fable comes and RPG sandbox game where you get to decide how to live your life. You can farm, run stores, and have a family. Instead of playing the same character forever, you age and eventually die, then you continue to play as your children. Kynseed looks like it will be filled will lots of folklore and fairy tale elements, which I’m really looking forward to. Its painterly art style is gorgeous and it looks like a beautiful world to explore. Kynseed is currently in early access on Steam.

Witchbrook – This game is in the very early stages of development right now, so not much is know about it other than it’s a 2D magic school RPG. Chucklefish (the game’s developer) CEO recently revealed that town management is one of the main concepts they are exploring with the game. You would go to a witch school and learn magic to help you with managing your town. I’m very excited to see future updates for Witchbrook and I’ll be keeping a close eye on this game.

Littlewood – Described by many as a cross between Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, this is exactly the game I’m looking for while I wait for New Horizons. You’ve saved the world and now you get to rebuild your town. Make friends and build their perfect house. Harvest, farm, craft, cook, mine, fish, and more to your heart’s content. Want a coffee shop? You can build one! Littlewood is in early access on Steam, and will eventually becoming to the switch.

I’ll be buying each of these games and posting again on them while I’m playing. As you can see, I’m really into the 2D life sim RPGs.
