It’s been about a week and a half since I last played New Leaf and the hibiscus are blooming now. When I last played they were budding (and so were the real ones in my backyard). I miss the hydrangeas, but it’s nice to see the hibiscus. The real life crepe myrtles have also started blooming – add that to the list of flowers I want in New Horizons (a bit of a reach).
I’m still trying to get more hibiscus for my town from Tortimer Island, especially red, I only have a couple of those. Maybe we’ll get more colors for the flowering bushes? The ones I have in my backyard (which I’m currently drying for tea and hibiscus lemon bars) are a pinkish-purple.
Now that it’s July, I can go diving for horseshoe crabs, which is the only new fish/bug/scuba thing new this month that I haven’t caught. Still no luck with the saddled bichir, those elusive bastards. It looks like September will be a big month for catching new stuff though.
There’s quite a lot going on in Pocket Camp right now, with the Sanrio characters events. I liked all the items from the last garden event, but it was the first time in awhile that I didn’t complete the event (the hard tasks). Those plumeria flowers are gorgeous – and they look like the Breath of the Wild korok flowers. They’re also very beachy, which is a perfect fit for New Horizons.
I know it’s awhile away, but I’m looking for some inspiration for my New Horizons release party. My ideas right now are a beachy cake with the Animal Crossing logo and flower crowns (of course)! I guess I have a lot of time to think about it but I am very open to suggestions.
250 days until Animal Crossing: New Horizons!
